  Re-presenting Canada:

 Issues and Challenges

     Interdisciplinary Canadian Studies Conference

15 - 16 April 2011

About the Conference

How has Canada been re-presented by the different disciplines in the past? In what ways do contemporary scholars challenge these re-presentations and offer new ways of viewing and representing Canada? Our symposium poses these important questions at a time when Canada is reconsidering her role in the international community.

'Re-presenting Canada: Issues and Challenges' provides a platform for junior and senior researchers, students and other Canadianists from a variety of disciplines and contexts including history, geography, sociology, art, psychology, literature, politics, digital media, and economics.

School teachers are also very welcome. Participants are invited to present their research as papers or posters, in the form of a workshop or as members of a plenary panel.
